New Year / What Became of WfC
Hi All, I hope everyone has a happy and prosperous 2023! Some of us may have had a good year, some a bad year or some just an okay year. Regardless, I am thinking of you warmly and praying for you! I realize that I've been dead quiet on this profile for the past year, and I feel I should provide an explanation, especially for those of you who follow me mainly for my fantasy content and have been with me from the beginning. There are a lot of reasons I've been offline for so long. The year started off rough with a couple of really hard losses in my family; a few months after, I got engaged. Much of my time and energy has therefore been dedicated to getting my family affairs squared away and get the job/living situation sorted out for my fiancé and me. I'm also looking to grow in my career and look for something a step up from the entry-level job I've held for the past couple of years; this is getting more critical as rents in my area are exorbitant and often unreasonable with the
Migration Season
Hi All, Long time no see, and Happy Halloween! Man it's been a crazy couple of years. I've found that during that time, I've hit a major case of writer's block as far as "The War for Cyrín" goes. I know what I want to see happen, but I can't piece together how to get it there. My art has been evolving over that time too, and it has majorly shifted over more from fantasy to nature illustration and nature journaling. For those kinds of subjects, especially with how fluid nature journaling can be sometimes with some pages being edited or added to multiple times, I've found that a platform like dA probably isn't the best fit. Even more so considering all the less-efficient changes dA prettymuch forced upon us last year... While this dA platform will still be my base for WfC and other fantasy art, whenever I get back to it, I have been migrating most of my work over to Instagram for things like wildlife, nature and science illustration. NEW JOB!!!!!!!!
Hey all, I know I've dropped off again and didn't even post the rest of the Inktobers like I originally planned. I've drawn all but the last four and they will all get uploaded eventually. But as it turns out, there's been a pretty big reason for my going quiet... I just accepted a permanent job at Everglades National Park!!!! Over the past year I've been living in the park housing and working as an intern with the park ranger staff. The position I accepted is a receptionist working at headquarters, but it is one of many roles that fall under the big umbrella of Park Ranger. Since I'd be starting right in the middle of our busy winter season, switching to full time at the desk would leave them one person short for giving interpretive programs. So, for the remainder of the winter from my entry on duty, I'd likely have a mixed schedule where I would still be out giving programs one or two days a week while someone else takes the phone for the day. Hi All, Don't worry, I'm still around, just haven't been posting much lately. Between the new layout that got switched over back in May, starting to look for another job to have lined up by the end of my internship, and still suffering some pretty severe writer's block, there hasn't been much action going on in Cyrin lately. I can just envision everyone where I left off with them at the end of Book II ch. 17 frozen in place like a paused DVD and want to snicker, but it's really not that funny. I would still very much like to get a move on with the story, and I still have one chapter plus an epilogue to go for WfC Book II. Truth be told, though, I'm still having quite a hard time fleshing out the events of Book III, mostly in the first half. I know what I want, just don't know how to stitch it all together and make it fluid. I'm rather dismayed at this new format and my favorites are probably becoming a disorganized mess because I still haven't figured out how to sort them into my

Ahh, I'm sorry you lost a lot of motivation! I've only completed one year of college so far, but the summer kind of has me lost on days where I don't work - I don't function well when left to my own devices, even if I would rather do nothing. Luckily I do have a job, but some days it stresses me out more than not having a set schedule.
